FAQs

HOW WILL CONFERENCES AND EVENTS WORK THIS YEAR?

As of right now, Regional Conferences will be held virtually for 2021-2022. Michigan HOSA has not released any statements about State or Regional Conferences, so we will update you as soon as we have more information.

HOW AND WHERE WILL REGIONALS TAKE PLACE?

Last year for all conferences, students used a virtual interactive platform to complete events and participate in workshops. This year will be the same as last year, where you do not have to log into any sort of Zoom call and are allowed to use resources for events.

HOW WILL WE ATTEND STATES? IF WE AREN'T ABLE TO PHYSICALLY GO TO STATES, WILL IT BE VIRTUAL?

At the moment, we are unsure what states this year will look like. We will send updates once we know more. Currently, HOSA states is scheduled for February 24th and 25th at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. We are extremely hopeful and optimistic to have an in-person HOSA States Conference!

WHAT WILL BE THE SPECIFIC TIME AND DATE FOR HOSA MEETINGS?

HOSA meetings are planned accordingly as time progresses, but will typically be on Mondays. Our tentative schedule for the year can be found in our slides under the resources tab or on Schoology.. We will be sure to send out communications through remind, email, and the website to inform you of any upcoming meetings.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY EVENTS YOU CAN DO? AND DO YOU GET TO CHANGE THEM THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?

No, you are not able to change your event throughout the year. You earn your spot in your event ONLY at each competition (Regionals, States, and Nationals) so you cannot switch. As an example, if you earn Top 6 in regionals for Behavioral Health, you cannot compete in Pharmacology at States. You may only compete in Behavioral Health.

IF I AM ACCEPTED INTO PHARMACOLOGY, COULD I STILL GET RESOURCES, SUCH AS THE TEXTBOOK, FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH? WOULD I NEED TO PURCHASE MATERIALS ON MY OWN?

Materials for events are NOT provided by Northville HOSA. They must be purchased individually. However, if your event is Pharmacology, you are free to study Behavioral Health on your own time. We plan to have a Google Drive that is accessible for everyone, and you will be able to look over any notes in the other event folders as you please.

IS THERE A WEBSITE OR PLACE WHERE WE CAN ACCESS SAMPLE TESTS FOR EVENTS?

Unfortunately, HOSA does not allow people to post previous tests for events. However, some guidelines have sample questions, quizlet may have flashcards, and your event leader can help you become familiar with previous test questions.
